Proud

The Northwest Film Center and the Portland Art Museum present PROUD. Opens [Online] Friday, June 26.

In 1981, it was still illegal to be gay in France. Today, same-sex marriage is recognized and has paved the way for legalizing the adoption of children by LGBTQ families. PROUD tells the story of Charles, Victor, and Diego, three generations of the same family who represent the seismic social changes that took place in just three decades.

From the award-winning director of FATIMA (the 2016 Cesar winner for Best Film), this three-part episodic cinema event is a chronology of acceptance and a portrait of one family through changing times.

Your $12.00 ticket will directly support both NWFC and PAM and we encourage all of our members, staff, and supporters to join us—and spread the word.

Proud – Official U.S. Trailer

At a time when the bulk of cinemas are expected to remain shuttered due to the coronavirus pandemic, our plan is to continue bringing new films at an affordable price point to the PAM and NWFC audiences that allow us to follow social distancing rules.

Directed by Philippe Faucon
2018, 156 minutes, France, French with English subtitles
