Write Around PAM: Joe Feddersen

Screens and our relationships to them continue to evolve and influence all facets of our lives—how we stay informed, how we work and learn and play, how we connect with one another, how we attempt civil discourse, even where in our spaces we spend our time. They can connect us across vast distances, and also create vast distances within the same room. Sitting with Joe Feddersen’s piece, Flat Screen, we invite you to spend time writing, with pen and paper, about how you are feeling connected (or disconnected) from those around you, and how technology changes how we see ourselves and one another. Before or after you write, spend some time learning about Feddersen’s work and life.

We have two prompts to help you get started. As always, you can choose one, both, or write whatever else comes. Set a timer for 6 mins and just keep your pen moving.

Beneath the surface… / We got caught up…

Writing in community is powerful. We are grateful to our longtime partner Write Around Portland for the writing prompts and inspiration. You can revisit past Sunday posts and look for continuing weekly posts through the fall. Please share your work with us! @writearoundpdx @portlandartmuseum #RespectWritingCommunity #WriteAroundPAM
