Write Around PAM: Richard Misrach

Looking at the water, the land, the tiny bridge in the distance, we are reminded of journeying, and the boats or ships that may have passed under that bridge. What else might be in the water, on those distant shores? We invite you to take some time today to write about the images that come to your mind when you look at this photograph by Richard Misrach. See this work in person in the Ansel Adams in Our Time exhibition on view now through August 1 at the Portland Art Museum.

We have two prompts to help you get started. You can use one, or both, or neither. Just set a timer for 8 minutes and keep your pen or pencil moving.

Beneath the water… / Coming home…

Writing in community is powerful. We are grateful to our longtime partner Write Around Portland for the writing prompts and inspiration. You can revisit past Sunday posts and look for continuing weekly posts through the summer with a focus on Ansel Adams in our Time during May, June, and July. Please share your work with us! @writearoundpdx @portlandartmuseum #RespectWritingCommunity #WriteAroundPAM
